What do Adam Sandler, kids and retailers have in common?

 

They’re all going back to school!

I don’t know about you, but this time of year leaves me nostalgic for a new backpack, colored pencils and color-coded folders. From the well-timed announcement that Limited Too is making a come back, to Dell’s inspirational campaign targeting teens, retailers across the country are doing what they can to get in front of parents and kids alike.

On the state level, many back to school shoppers can enjoy a weekend or a week of tax-free shopping, granting tax-exemption to clothing, electronics, school supplies and other items, prompting shopping and mom bloggers to compile strategic guidelines to tax-free shopping.

Back to school season is expected to reach $68 billion in spending in 2015, so it’s no wonder retailers go above and beyond on promotions, targeting and social media this time of year. Check out this infographic from the National Retail Federation:
