Can’t remember what you were doing this time last year? No worries! After years of testing, Facebook has officially launched “On This Day,” a feature that allows users to view content they posted and were tagged in on any given date in the past. Similar to Timehop, users will be able to keep this content private or share it with their friends. While Facebook is slowly rolling out this feature, here are a few ways brands can use this to create better content:

1. Planning purposes

While consumers’ needs are constantly changing, it’s always useful to look back to see which content was working around the same time period. These types of metrics can help influence what content may resonate with users today.

2. Curated Content

Working with a new real estate development? Share an old photo of the property for a fun and engaging #ThrowbackThursday post. This feature will undoubtedly help with curated content ideas

3. Identify influencers and/or long time fans

While reviewing this content, are you seeing names pop up consistently? These long time fans can be great cheerleaders and potential brand ambassadors! This is especially true for smaller, more boutique brands.

What are some of the ways you’re hoping to use “On This Day” for your brand?
