A Very Merry Delucchi December— Our Favorite Holiday Campaigns and Tunes

delucchmas

The holidays are finally around the corner. At Delucchi Nation, we’re getting into the spirit by consuming all things holiday-centric. To help spread cheer, check out a few of our favorite marketing campaigns this season and the tunes that have us singing loud for all to hear.

Kate Spade #MissAdventure: “To the Top”

HBO Girls star Zosia Mamet has recently been the central character in many Kate Spade ads for the brand’s latest campaign, #MissAdventure. In her newest spot, Mamet runs into her longtime acquaintance/nemesis while en route to a holiday party at the top of the Empire State Building. The encounter turns into a full-blown quarrel when the two realize they’re dressed in the same outfit. Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine even makes an appearance while donning the same fur coat outfit that’s really looking good for our holiday party too. Including top fashion icons always helps make a fashion ad memorable and including the sassy Miss Piggy in that bunch makes this ad campaign uniquely funny and notable.

Seasonal Clif Bars

Who said getting your daily dose of protein can’t involve a little holiday indulgence? Clif Bar is embracing our holiday sugar and pie cravings by releasing exclusive flavors of their famous protein bars. In select stores, you can find Pecan Pie, Spiced Pumpkin Pie and Iced Gingerbread Clif Bars, all made with organic flavors. A taste of holiday nostalgia isn’t the only incentive to purchasing these protein bars: 1% of the proceeds will also be donated to the advocacy campaign, Protect Our Winters.

John Lewis #BusterTheBoxer

A boxer, two foxes, a badger, a hedgehog and a squirrel bouncing on a trampoline have somehow resulted in one of the year’s cutest Christmas advertisements. UK-based department store John Lewis collaborated with MPC, the post-production team that brought us the newest Jungle Book, to tell the story of a boxer who’s enviously watched his owner bounce on her bed up until the day she gets a new trampoline. In the company’s attempt to start a global conversation, the ad has become the most shared of the season. The #BusterTheBoxer hashtag leads you to the John Lewis website where you can help donate to the charity The Wildlife Trusts by purchasing stuffed animal versions of Buster and his friends. If you’re looking for a feel-good ad that’s made for a good cause, look no further than #BusterTheBoxer.

Local Shout-Out: Miracle on 7th Street

After hosting a successful Christmas pop-up in 2015 at Shaw’s Mockingbird Hill, expert mixologist and bar owner Derek Brown of the Drink Company extended the most lit bar experience to another two of his neighboring watering holes—Eat the Rich and Southern Efficiency. This holiday party is filled with tinsel covered walls and complete with a menu of themed drinks referencing Christmas classics. To give you a taste of what you’ll find, we’re eyeing the “Gretchen Stop Trying to Make Fetch Happen” — a colorful concoction made with Sherry, Dry Curaçao, Spiced Cranberry Syrup and Sparkling Wine. For the Christmas fanatic who decorated the day after Thanksgiving, Miracle on 7th Street is a can’t-miss D.C. attraction.
