TripAdvisor recently announced that they have added a new airline review platform to their review repertoire. The platform, which incorporates both reviews and an updated flight search functionality, is designed to make airline research easier – answering common questions regarding fees, routes and amenities (like in-flight WiFi). It will provide access to overall airline ratings and reviews, as well as enable users to see how other travelers rate specific criteria like leg room, entertainment, value, seat comfort and customer services.
As TripAdvisor has been the leading resource for travel planning from the hotel end, it will be interesting to see if the new airline reviews option takes off in the same way, and what role TripAdvisor will play in the customer service and complaint-handling department (which has largely belonged to social media).
We’ll be monitoring the progress and evolution of TripAdvisor’s airline review platform, so check back for updates!
