Delucchi U Recap: The Rules of Engagement – Social Media Community Management

Screen Shot 2016-07-27 at 5.45.08 PMIn this week’s Delucchi University, Matt and Meg filled us in on how to maneuver community engagement on social media. Right off the bat these two showed that they could engage an audience by quizzing the group on just what it means to create good content.

After this, they walked us through the five steps of the content process, introduced elements of good content and reminded us that good social content can’t stand alone without good community management. By zooming in on best practices for each social platform as well as universal tactics for social media engagement (like social listening and remaining timely), Matt and Meg prepped us for their final activity – flipping the script and having the audience adopt the role of community managers in a practice scenario.

In the end we took away plenty of knowledge about the multi-faceted role of community managers for social media. One of the more important takeaways was that, like many roles, community and social managers are cooperative so collaborating with Account Executives to interface and make recommendations to clients is critical!
