Google’s Mobile Friendly Update Arrives

4.22

The day we’ve been talking about for months has finally arrived – today Google rolled out the long-anticipated Mobile Friendly Update. While the jury is still out on just how impactful this update will be for search marketers, some interesting tests have already been noticed.

In an article today on Search Engine Land some “mobile friendly tag” examples were shared. The most interesting item of note is that the tags appear on both natural and paid results. We have spent a lot of time hypothesizing on the impact of this update on organic rankings and strategy, but have left the AdWords realm out of it for the most part. The mobile experience has already been a quality score factor for ads, but this new update may increase the value of mobile friendliness in how they grade your ads.

So far Google has not made any comment on the subject as of yet, but there will surely be more to come on this issue. Stay tuned for more analysis and news regarding Google’s latest update!
