Play Ball! Delucchi Plus Goes to the Ballpark

All work and no play makes Delucchi a dull agency. So, to keep spirits high and creativity flowing during hot D.C. summer months, we like to get out every now and again and take advantage of the nation’s capitol. For this company outing, we decided to head to the Capitol Riverfront to watch the Nat’s take on the Dodgers. Though we didn’t take home the “W,” we think the night was an overall success.

Company outings, like a good ol’ ballgame, are a great way to reduce employee stress and to help employees recharge their batteries. When coworkers can cultivate meaningful relationships outside of the office it can have a profound effect on your company and on overall quality of work. A Mashable article perfectly explains how company outings and casual company events can foster a sense of togetherness between more junior and senior members of a team: “Sometimes we need to let loose and not feel like we can’t say something to someone because they’re a superior. Outings facilitate conversations between people across various departments and throughout the company hierarchy.”

Additionally, giving employees time to relax and get to know one another increases productivity. In fact, a study conducted by the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick proved that happy employees are 12% more productive than unhappy employees. So, if getting out of the office every once and a while makes for happier, less stressed and more productive employees, then there will be a lot more baseball games in Delucchi’s future!
