Holiday Inn Tampa

Understanding the importance of a mobile-friendly site in an increasingly mobile-first travel and tourism industry, The Holiday Inn Tampa came to Delucchi Plus to build a mobile site to complement their existing desktop site. Rather than build a mobile-only site, we proposed developing a new, responsively designed site that could automatically adapt and respond to the viewing device of the user, thereby eliminating the need to keep two separate websites updated in tandem.

Using the existing brand standards, we slightly revamped the design of the site and switched content management systems from eZ Publish — which, although Open Source, was familiar to only a small community of developers — to WordPress, an easily customizable CMS that integrates with numerous applications, benefits from a large network of commercial plug-ins and is familiar to most web developers.

Results

With the site in WordPress as of April 1 2016 (http://tampahi.com/), the Holiday Inn Tampa team is able to keep up with technological changes in the industry and ensure their content is always optimized for user viewing devices, while easily making updates and additions to their site content without leaning on a developer. Notably, we were able to completely rebuild the site’s search engine optimization (SEO) value without any drop in or disruption to natural search traffic — meaning the client now enjoys a completely new mobile-friendly, technologically current site without losing any of the search authority established on the former one.
