With Social Media, There’s No Excuse for Forgetting Mother’s Day

While scrolling through Twitter and Facebook this morning, I was quickly reminded that Mother’s Day is approaching, and it’s in my best interest to get a card in the mail ASAP! Note to all: With the influx of heartstring-pulling social media posts, there’s officially no excuse for forgetting Mother’s Day!

Thankfully, the heavy promotion of the holiday has been dominating social media feeds with tips and listicles of gift ideas and flower delivery services and reminding us of our dwindling timeframe. Even Amazon launched a flower delivery service in NYC for the first time this year, just in time for Mother’s Day. The service is for its Prime members and boasts deliveries in one hour or less.

Procter and Gamble is known for touching tributes to moms via their “Thank You, Mom” campaign which I’ve previously gushed about, and this year their brand, Clearblue, is following suite. Clearblue is using Mother’s Day as a way to market its product by celebrating the first moment when women discovered they would be moms. They’ve partnered with celebrities, Jessie James Decker and DeAnna Pappas Stagliano to create a video (included above) to capture these moments to honor moms of every kind. The video was launched on their Facebook page and highlights the overwhelmingly emotional and life changing moment when you first become a mom.

P&G once again pulls at our heartstrings and delivers an unbeatable product. Just as we have a loyal bond to our own mothers, brands big and small can create loyal customers by selling an emotional bond to their brand rather than just a product.
