Thinking Outside The Box… Literally!

There’s an old trend becoming new again and this time it’s not just getting thrown in the trash. Direct mail is coming back and in the world of tracking and big-brother stalking, we’re able to tell that it’s coming back in a big way. And the reason why? People are starting to think outside the box.

The mailboxes of Americans are jammed with a waste of time and money: flyers, advertising postcards, cheap format direct mail pieces, and fake controlled circulation magazines nobody cares about.

Gone are the days of boring mail being shoved through the mail slot. As an agency, we knew we had to stand out. We had to make something personal and not just slap a name on a piece and hope our target audience thinks we know them. Now, our direct mailers don’t even fit through the mail door. Instead we’re creating a trend in the big and the bold… the flashy and playful… the “whoa, that’s cool!”

We dove head first into this trend and found a company that helped us create the magic cube. Well…we just did the design, they actually made it work and have the technology patented. The end result was an over-the-top creation that shed light on our client’s project, L’Enfant Plaza. When recipients receive this box it makes them want to hold onto it and not throw it away. It still gives all the information they need to know, but in a manner that gets them excited about learning more about L’Enfant Plaza.
